5–10–5 shuttle
5–10–5 shuttle is a agility discipline in BYOH, trained with open space and building quickness and legs. Its ladder runs from 5–10–5 in 12 sec or less at Level 1 to 5–10–5 in 5.8 sec or less at Level 9, and Level 10 is the world record.
The ten levels
BYOH measures a discipline in ten cleared levels. Level 9 is a genuine feat; Level 10 is the standing world record, which is there to be looked at rather than reached.
5–10–5 shuttle starts at Level 1 with 5–10–5 in 12 sec or less. Level 5 asks for 5–10–5 in 8.3 sec or less, and Level 9 - the last level a person can train towards - 5–10–5 in 5.8 sec or less. The largest single jump is from Level 1 to Level 2, 5–10–5 in 12 sec or less to 5–10–5 in 11 sec or less.

The record past Level 9
5–10–5 shuttle — Provisional legend benchmark.
BYOH uses a provisional final gate until a comparable governed record format is selected. This is a provisional benchmark rather than a governed record.
How it is done
- Place three markers 4.572 m (5 yd) apart. The traditional 5–10–5 name refers to yards; keep this spacing for comparable times.
- Touch one outside line, cross to the far line, then finish through the middle.
- Repeat both directions and record the faster clean attempt.
How the attempt is judged
A level only means something if two heroes clearing it have done the same thing. These are the rules BYOH counts an attempt by — they are the rules of a game, not coaching.
- What counts as one
- One attempt: five yards to one side, ten to the other, five back through the middle, timed from first movement.
- The set
- A single clean attempt. Run it in both directions and record the faster of the two; a voided attempt counts as neither.
- What you need
- Three markers 4.572 metres (five yards) apart in a line. Start straddling the middle marker, hand down.
- What ends it
- Failing to touch the line at each turn with a hand, or a false start, voids the attempt.
What it builds
5–10–5 shuttle feeds Quickness and Legs in a hero’s record, working legs, coordination.
- Change of direction
- Acceleration
- Coordination & balance
5–10–5 shuttle is one of 4 agility disciplines. It shares its open space requirement with 3 other agility disciplines. Quickness is also built by 100 m sprint, 200 m sprint, 400 m run and 4 more, and a broad attribute needs several of them rather than one taken far.
