Rope jumping
Rope jumping is a endurance discipline in BYOH, trained with household and building stamina and quickness. Its ladder runs from 15 sec at Level 1 to 30+ min at Level 9, and Level 10 is the world record.
The ten levels
BYOH measures a discipline in ten cleared levels. Level 9 is a genuine feat; Level 10 is the standing world record, which is there to be looked at rather than reached.
Rope jumping starts at Level 1 with 15 sec. Level 5 asks for 3 min, and Level 9 - the last level a person can train towards - 30+ min. The largest single jump is from Level 7 to Level 8, 10 min to 20 min.

The record past Level 9

How it is done
- Hold an end of the rope in each hand. Position the rope behind you on the ground. Raise your arms up and turn the rope over your head bringing it down in front of you. When it reaches the ground, jump over it. Find a good turning pace that can be maintained. Different speeds and techniques can be used to introduce variation.
- Rope jumping is exciting, challenges your coordination, and requires a lot of energy. A 150 lb person will burn about 350 calories jumping rope for 30 minutes, compared to over 450 calories running.

How the attempt is judged
A level only means something if two heroes clearing it have done the same thing. These are the rules BYOH counts an attempt by — they are the rules of a game, not coaching.
- What counts as one
- One continuous bout, timed from the first turn of the rope.
- The set
- A single bout. The rope must keep turning: a trip ends the attempt.
- What you need
- A rope the right length for you and a surface with some give.
- What ends it
- A trip, a tangle, or stopping to catch your breath ends the bout.
What it builds
Rope jumping feeds Stamina and Quickness in a hero’s record, working quadriceps, calves, hamstrings.
- Aerobic endurance
- Whole-body work capacity
- Coordination & balance
- Calves
Rope jumping is one of 7 endurance disciplines. It is the only endurance discipline in BYOH trained with household. Stamina is also built by burpees, mountain climbers, 1 km run and 3 more, and a broad attribute needs several of them rather than one taken far.
